Today was a very nice, relaxing day. Mrs. Lucas cleaned the house and I started the daunting task of cleaning my office. The Smiths called and said that after Greg's show, they were going to head to Buco for some dinnah!
Chicken Cannelloni and some other dish is pictured above. It was so incredibly good. Tomorrow; Shrimp Kabobs!

ILIFE '08

As much as I love my Mac; I am growing weary of the whole "I" culture naming convention. Today, we went and bought ILIFE 08. It really works slick; the movie and photo programs are very easy to use.....
I am hoping to BBQ some jumbo shrimp tomorrow; wanna come over!!?

The Grill Diaries - Day 2

Well, I am at day 2 with the grill and I love it! Tonight was Rib eye's and Johnsonville Brats!

My dad went it for gastric bypass surgery today. My step mother called to say he was in great spirits coming out of the anesthesia. He joked with one of the nurses saying "so, am I thin yet?"

Snow White rehearsals are still going well, we open in a few weeks.

A HUGE thank you by the by to SSS for scoring me the VERY hard to get Disc 2 from Tesla called Real to Reel! Tons of Great covers on this one to accompany the first Disc.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof...?

Bon Jour, y'all....
So tonight was the devirginizing of the new grill that Casa de Lucas has acquired. In attendance were the Lucas' (naturally), the ever-monkey funny Drunk Monkey and the better half of the Mr & Mrs Smith couple, Shaleen.
I started with just a simple, thin cut tri tip steak. I used some Jack Daniels Old Number 7
Original recipe BBQ sauce. Added about 5 generous drops of Tobasco
then some various spices
The grill heated very quickly and I decided to only use the middle 2 (of 4 total) grilling spots. Mrs. Smith and Ashley like 'em charred and The Drunk Monkey and I like 'em moo-ing a little, so that is how I split up the flames.
Threw on 4 ears of corn, husk and all and voila! It was a great deflowering!
The picture is of the neighbor cat, Otis. As I was starting to put the grill away and clean it, I noticed a meowing from roof of the house!! He must have crawled up the tree and went exploring. After getting the ladder and getting him down, I decided to take a picture of him guarding his Master's drive way.....

Thanks SSS and AMT for coming over....we love ya....when is the cruise to Alaska!!?

....what a great time we had putting this sucker together today. Thank God the Smiths' showed up just as we were starting otherwise I am pretty sure 1) Ash and I would still be putting it together and 2) one of us would have killed the other by now!

This is an open letter to the old hag and her dead beat husband with what I believe was 2 cute grand kids at Lee’s Sandwiches today……

YOU ARE UNFIT, UNKEMPT, PATHETIC EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS! But let me tell you why….

I admit, I do not know all the sordid, sorry bits of what I can only assume is your checkered past, but what I saw you do today was deplorable. Thankfully your older (perhaps 5 or so) grandson had his wits about him, but how do you let that poor little younger girl (maybe 3?) scream in such sadness and sorrow?? All she wanted was for you to buy her something! That is all…..and knowing little girls that age, if you would have bought her a little lollypop or soda (like you did for the grandson) I wouldn’t have to give you or this subject a second of my time (my time in which you are SO not even close to being worthy of). How, let me say again, JUST F***CKING, HOW do you let that child be that distraught? Did she “deserve” it for some maladaptive behavior? No. What can a little 3 year old girl do, that would make you not give her just the slightest of attention, when you found it totally justified to buy you, your greasy f**** as a husband, and the son (who I understand is totally an innocent bystander in this)
You are so incredibly lucky that I felt that my position in work would hinder any proceedings of law. But I so very much assure you that I will be checking to see just what IS my right as a worker for the County of Sacramento and more; a strong-willed, sensible, caring of most of God’s creatures human F-ing being! Human being. That is a term that perhaps you should look up. Oh wait, that’s right….that would actually mean you would have to do something other than sit on your fat lazy stank ASS…..

May God have mercy on your soul………..


(yes, as I said, I don’t know all the circumstances in their lives. But it does not take a rocket scientist to understand that when a child is exemplifying that behavior, you need to take control.)


Hope my day gets better…….Mom, Dad, Ken, Cathy….I thank God daily for how well you raised me……………..

So here we are; Friday!....Feels good.....Mrs. Lucas is back from her whirl wind trip; we will probably be getting a grill this weekend....things are rockin'. I have Suspects tomorrow night and that is always good for some drinks and fun.

California state fair starts soon....I think Tesla is playing opening night....if I didn't like the multitude of people, I would consider going.

Snow White rehearsals started today......

It does behoove me, dear reader, about the oddity that is today’s ‘normal’ human being. Driving aside (which is a whole other topic for a more bitter, hate-filled post) just they way they think (or lack of) makes me stop in my tracks. Two examples:

Last night, the Mrs. and I go to our local, friendly SaveUMoreOrLess grocery outlet type thing. As we are walking, CLEARLY on the right most side of the aisle, a woman, who has the scowl of one very wronged woman, is walking, straight at us as we are pushing our cart. Mind you, there is nobody on our left, her right. I begin to slow down trying to assess where I should go. Finally, she moves to her right but not without making sure I notice her “The-nerve-of-you-to-make-me-move-from-my-line-of-site” glare.

This gives me cause to stop myself. Mrs. Lucas says “what are you doing, we need to go that way”. I said to her that isn’t it just in the normal walk of life (no pun intended) to walk on the right? We are taught from the time we are mere grade school kids, to walk on the right. We drive on the right. I just shake my head in bewilderment and proceed to get my food items.

This second one, is actually more funny than a vent. I was going into the break room where an older woman (60+?) and a younger woman (late 20’s?) were talking about what they use in their toilet bowl as far as cleaner? One uses the blue tablet that makes the swirl-y blue water. The other doesn’t because she has dogs (maybe DON’T let them drink from the toilet!?). This toilet bowl gate discussion went on for like 10 minutes (yes, I started to browse the paper, but was really wanting to hear how long this would go). I walked out and chuckled.

People are just ….. well………. They are…………….*shrugs*……well they are something………what say you?

The start of a project....

....well today I have turned a "milestone" birthday. I took the day to just reflect (i.e. be a slacker).....then I got to thinking I should make this milestone day one of new beginnings...So what I am going to try to do is.....my world in pictures.....armed with my handy dandy nifty Iphone, I am going to try to post a picture a day and give some sort of narrative. This is loosely based on Drunk Monkey insisting that I don't update my blog as frequently as I ought to.

now as far as logistics, I may upload the pic to Flickr then put the link here....or I may just have you all go to flickr......

Things have been rather..."hectic" as of late.....I implore you dear faithful reader to have a bit of patience. There has been a LOT going on in my life.

Most recently, Hell's Kitchen is back on Fox on Monday's and Chef Ramsey is in FULL a**hole mode from the first episode.

Let's not forget the Soprano's being done this coming Sunday. How do you think it will end?.....I just hope it isn't some lame ass "dream" sequence things. I can almost take the bile in my mouth now.

AND! The heaven's have opened and Live From Studio 60 is going to air the rest of their season! This show is quite amazing and so very underrated. If you get a chance, tune in!!
