Wild Dogs - Tommy Bolin
Check out this great tune by Tommy Bolin....
Baggage handcuffed to my wrist,
I drag it everywhere I go.
Sometimes I fight it with my fists,
If I knew which way was home,
It's where I'd go.
If I knew which way was home.
Porter come and cut me loose,
Bring that whiskey in my water.
Sometimes I get the blues,
But I know I shouldn't oughtta.
That's where I'd go.
If I knew which way was home.
Run down ghost town, no chance for love,
No sign of life - just wild dogs howlin' in the night.
That's what I like.
Hey porter come and cut me free,
I'm sick of my own company.
Sometimes I miss the gold,
Most times I miss my home.
That's where I'd go.
If I knew which way was home.
That's what I like

I Must Have Missed The Cliffnotes On This One...
There is no book, no pamphlet, no instruction manual for boys growing into manhood for the tale I am about to tell.....mommy and daddy raised me as the good Catholic boy that I am today and nowhere along that road to becoming a man, was I prepared for what happened today.
I am in the courthouse, waiting to talk to one of the deputies. I am standing by the restrooms listening to some April Wine ("Wanna Rock" a great tune; totally irrellevant to this story) on my Ipod. This is uaually an excellent time to people watch because where I stand is right by 4 sets of elevators, the hub (if you will) of the different court rooms you can go to, and.....the restrooms. Here, faithful, eager reader, is where you hero's new experience will take place. As I watch the sea of people, America's melting pot if you will, I notice a woman leaving the restroom. As she turns away from me to walk to her destination, I am exposed to the vision of something I only thought was possible in TV or movies. Her dress was tucked into the top of her panty-hose. Now, my quandry. I hurriedly debate between telling the woman, "Excuse me! You can't dress yourself properly!", fumbling for my IPhone's camera feature, or finding another woman so I can say "hey, ya MIGHT want to tell her somethings up, downtown!" But instead, because I just don't know what is the RIGHT thing to do.....I watch her walk into the sea of people, heading to her destination........hopefully to be seen by her fellow woman in sisterhood so she can tell her what's going on!
I finish talking to the Deputy and head to the elevator. I still can't help but smile.....because.........it IS kind of funny to me still..........

Guilty Pleasures!
I mean....here I was sitting.....just an ordinary day.....get up, go to work...come home...watch TV....I go to my trusted "friend", my computer.
The feeling came upon me......I kind of got a little warm.....I looked around and closed the door to my office.....I slowly pulled the blinds to stop the last few rays of the spring sunset.
Nervously, I reached for the mouse. Why o Why was I feeling so incredibly guilty. It's a natural feeling.
Breaths became deeper...heart racing.........then in a fleeting moment, it was done. The odd mixture of shame and excitement that comes from indulging in one's guilty "obsession";
My download of Poison covering Justin Timberlake's "Sexyback" was complete....and it really kinda rocked (I know Brad W. will just shake his head at this point)....
ok....so I am a little ashamed.....but I love cover songs......
Out!

Is it flipping Spring yet?
I know, I know...I am a tool. It has been ages since I updated this and I was determined at the beginning of the year that I wouldn't slack off on this.
So what's been going on lately? Well A Few Good Men closes this weekend. It will definitely be bittersweet. I will be glad that all the hard work is behind us, but this incredibly powerful show has really brought the cast of 15 or so together. Plus, it is a patriotic show. Truly it is. Sure they accidentally kill a guy, but it is the fine line of honor, code, and loyalty and ones self morals and beliefs that really give one pause. "Why do you love them so much?" "Because they stand a wall....and say that nothing is going to happen to you tonight.....not on my watch" It still makes the rest of the cast stop in place and get goose bumps. The Kaya delivers that line with such incredible conviction; it is an incredible moment in stage theater.
The Lucas' are looking for a house. With the buyers market the way it is, we decided it is about time to start the investing. And I can tell already it is going to be a long process!
I miss my family back in South Dakota and Iowa a lot. I miss my friends too. I was surprised to hear my best friend from high school was going to be in town for work for 3 days. Would have loved to see him, but I was struck with the death inducing flu for the whole week. So that was incredibly heart breakin gthat I didn't get to see him. On an upside, my friend Brad came across my email from a mutual friend and made contact. Brad is one of THE best frontmen in music as far as I am concerned! Back in the day........ahh memories..........
ok, that's it for now. I will try to post a picture or 3 soon....
I'm Outta here...
